Salvatore Tranchini

Tranchini organically weaves cymbals and drums to give life to rhythmic cycles that are reminiscent of Tony Williams but absolutely different from those of the great African American artist because they are less fragmented, more full-bodied, yet not even linked to the stylistic features of the beloved Elvin Jones. In his drumming there is also something of the warm and enveloping melodic sense of Philly Joe Jones
